Episode 034: Knitwear Designer Andrea Rangel

Episode 034_ Andrea Rangel_Social_Media

Andrea Rangel is a knitwear designer and author of two books: Rugged Knits and Alterknits Stitch Dictionary.

Andrea’s not only a knitwear designer: she has made a conscious choice to design her life. She dies this in myriad ways, from seeking out an intentional home in Canada to adventuring with her husband out in nature, to making time to pursue creative passions outside her career as a designer.

Special Announcement:

We are thrilled to welcome Andrea back to Stash later this month for the 3rd time!  She will be teaching 2 incredible classes: Cables: The Basics and Beyond, and Shawl Shape Exploration. Registration closes this Friday, October 12th, so grab your spot ASAP!

In this conversation, Andrea talks about:

  • how she spends her days and strives to live a creative life.

  • how taking time off can actually infuse your work with new energy

  • how she stretched her creativity and knowledge to learn how to sew out of a desire to make more of her own wardrobe.

  • the value of paying for quality knitting patterns by professionals and why she deserves to be paid fairly for her work

We also talk about her most recent book, her husband’s innovative contribution, and the behind-the-scenes process of making it a reality.

Join us as we talk about all of this and more!
